Back from Langkawi

After a day back from Langkawi, I still feel a bit tired. There are piles of thing waiting for me to settle as well. The house need to be clean, all the dirty clothes from the trip need to be wash and need to train more on DotA... :P
As I'm going back to hometown tomorrow, there is no time for me to put up my Langkawi trip here, I'll do it on next week. :)
Below is a photo where I took from my hotel room in the morning. The sea is calm and nice...

First taste on DotA

It has been months since I want to lay my hands on DotA. with the helps of my friends, I finally taste it at BS near University Place. It is fun and addictive. I'm still trying to have it run on my home PC......

A day of disaster....

Today is a bad day......it start with waking up late, reach company late. And it ends with my computer reformat due to virus attack. Sigh...maybe the only good things happen is that all my data survived from the malicious virus attack. Finally now everything is back to normal and here again I'm writing on my own blog.

A trip to Tropical Spice Garden (Batu Ferringhi) 11-12-2005

11-Dec-2005, a day where both of us should join Starwalk, end up with a trip up to Tropical Spice Garden in Batu Ferringhi (I will not want to explain on why, :P).

Eventhough there is Starwalk happening, there is a lots of cars moving towards town area...

The front gate of Tropical Spice Garden...
There are just a few car park available opposite the place, we decided to park just at the road side (since everybody doing so).

Opposite the place, is a nice stretch of beach with lots of families having picnic...
The entrance fees per adult is RM13.00. You'll still need to pay RM1.00 if you wish to get into the visitor center which we don't as we think it is too much as the entrance fee is already expensive.

Just after the entrance, there is a nice garden with a lake...

The small waterfall at the beginning of the lake. The lake is also the starting point of the 3 suggested trail in the garden.

There is this stream crossing by using the stepping stone on the stream.

My gf and I on the stepping stone...

Staircase lead to a nice place....A 2 person giant swing made of wood on a platform which overview the front part of the garden.

My gf and I sitting on the swing. We had keep visiting this swing (3 times) to rest and take a break. The air is cooling over here (eventhough it is almost noon) and the view is nice...

Another stream we found in the middle of the jungle trail.

Some cute plant found in the garden...

Part of the scenery in the garden.

Some kind of ferns.

A pair of traditional Chinese doors stand at the end of the pavillion.

Gateway to the orange trail - "Spice Trail"

"Cat's whiskers" plant.

Dragonfly resting on the plant...

Walkway towards the highest point of the garden.

A pond sitting at the highest point of the garden.

Bamboo pipes channel the natural water stream...

A wall which is planted with bamboo on it.
There is also a shuttle which will take you round the whole garden......
The end.

My first successful attempt on Skype video call......

Last night, finally I successfully to have a video call using Skype with my brother who is currently in UK. It is really a nice experience where I can see him and talk with him. He took me for a brief looking at his apartment living room...but the talking part is a bit bad......as I don't have a microphone and using my headphone to act as 1. Hmm...really needs to go and get 1 after work today.

Khoo Kongsi......A Heritage site in the center of Penang Georgetown (27-11-2005)

Sunday, nice to relax and sleep more......Instead of doing nothing, we (My gf and I) pay a visit to Khoo Kongsi (A Historical Heritage site). After having dim sum (breakfast) at "Hong Kong Dim Sum" at Macalister road, we head towards our destination. It takes us sometime to get to the place as it is hiding in some "tiny" road. We almost start a fight over where is the place by looking at the map. :P

After some hardwork, finally get to the entrance of Khoo Kongsi.

One of the house at the entrance of Khoo Kongsi has this antique traditional board.

Walkway outside a row of houses beside the lane lead to the main gate of Khoo Kongsi.

At the main gate, each of the visitor needs to pay RM5.00 as entrance fee. After the main gate, the first thing came into view are these ancient windows...

Main building of Khoo Kongsi. In front of the main building is an empty area where stood 2 noble lions (1 male and 1 female) welcoming its visitor.

Just opposite the main building, there is this building which I don't know the purpose of it.

There are a pair of Sikh guardian statue at the entrance of main building.

Entrance into the main hall of Khoo Kongsi. There is a guide who explains the structure, history of the building and meanings of each statue and drawing on the wall.

The smiling buddha......you can find a coin embedded at the handle of the staircase and another 1 below the statue.

The sad buddha......

1 of the wall crafting art which shown 6 of the 24 types of kindness towards parents.

Another example of stone crafting art on the wall of the main building.

View of the walkway just outside of the entrance of main building.

Entrance of main building.

The female lion stand on the right of the entrance.

The male lion stand on the left of the entrance.

Part of the drawing on the wall in the main hall.

At the back of the main building there is this empty rectangular space with lots of drawing on the wall.

1 of the back window which is made of wood and retain the traditional design.

Drawing on the pile below the roof shown the complexity of the building design.

Another hall......the signboard shown the traditional art work.

1 of the craft work on the roof which shown the traditional Hokkien "clay cutting" skill. There is a museum which explain the history of Khoo Kongsi.

Good weather, blue sky and sunshine......end of story. :)

Ice Ice Baby...

A nice cafe, with a nice meal, can save a bad day. Ice Ice Baby.....(In Pulau Tikus)

Essential of water...

Whenever we start to get impatient and angry, a glass of cold water can cool us down and buy sometime for us to think wisely.
